The Benefits of Eyebrow Waxing

When it comes to taking care of your eyebrows, there are a few options to consider when keeping them groomed. We're going to be reviewing the benefits of waxing for your eyebrows and how it may benefit you and your hair growth. It’s one of the most popular waxing services for good reason!

An overview of eyebrow waxing

Almost every waxing studio offers eyebrow waxing services to clients. It helps to keep your eyebrows perfectly shaped, for weeks at a time with just a short service! Of course, you can also combine it with other waxing services to get the most out of your trip to Beach House Waxing.

What is eyebrow waxing?

Eyebrow waxing utilizes hard wax or soft wax to attach to unwanted hairs during the removal process. Once the wax is applied, the hairs are removed in one fast, continuous motion and the hair follicle is removed at the root. At Beach House Waxing, we use hard wax as we believe it is the gentlest, and least painful type of wax for all services.

What are the benefits of eyebrow waxing?

When it comes to eyebrow waxing, this method is tried-and-true for those of us with bushy eyebrows. Thick, full eyebrow hair can be hard to tame and waxing the specific area is a surefire way to make sure you get the brows you want. In addition, eyebrow wax services are wildly accessible and can be located at almost any spa or salon where hair removal services are offered.

Another important benefit to eyebrow waxing is the simple fact that it is known to be more consistent than other methods of hair removal – so sure, if you can tolerate the warm sensation of wax and the short tug that follows, waxing could provide longer lasting results. Who doesn't like less maintenance?!

The cons of eyebrow waxing

Where there are pros, there are bound to be cons! When it comes to waxing, some of the negatives to this process include the risk of a wax burn, the tugging of skin – in addition to the unwanted hair – during the removal process, and 24 hours of irritation on the skin following your appointment.

What to expect from an eyebrow wax appointment

Knowledge is power! The more you know about the process of eyebrow waxing, the more confident you’ll be on the day you come in for your session. Let’s go over how to prepare, what to expect, and the best ways to take care of your skin after an appointment.

How to prepare for an eyebrow wax

First off, it's highly recommended that you come to the appointment without any makeup on your face. Clear skin minimized prep time for your esthetician. Gently exfoliate your brow area a day before your scheduled appointment to get rid of any dead skin cell buildup. If you’re sensitive to pain, taking a Tylenol or ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to arriving reduces discomfort.

During your session

To begin your waxing session, your esthetician cleanses the area they’re about to wax. You’ll discuss your desired brow shape and general skincare tips! With that, they’ll begin applying wax strips, letting them set, then quickly removing that wax along with your unwanted eyebrow hairs.

The entire process only takes about 15 to 20 minutes, then you’re all done! A quick rundown of what not to do for the next 48 hours, as well as some aftercare recommendations, and you’re on your way with a pair of fierce eyebrows.

Eyebrow waxing aftercare tips

Generally speaking, you’ll want to avoid direct sun exposure, tanning, and any hot water for the next 24 to 48 hours. Your skin is a bit sensitized in this time frame, so you want to take extra care of it.

After a couple days, you’ll want to exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week, and stick to your daily skincare routine. Not only will this prevent ingrown hairs from popping up, but it’ll have your entire face glowing to complement your eyebrow wax.
